Words This Week-6

This week’s words are rather easy.

It was a tortuous trek up the hill, and as we clambered up to the peak, I was pleasantly surprised at my stamina. Climbing up a hill is definitely an onerous task, but once you reach the summit, it feels electrifying to be on top of the world. The chill in the air titillates the senses, and the pristine view mollifies the strained nerves of city dwellers. A weekend trek is the best way to vent away all the anger and frustration that may have been built up during the week, and to ventilate the soul. But paucity of time always thwarts us from going on a trek every other weekend.

  1. tortuous-full of twists, turns, or bends; twisting, winding, or crooked path.
  2. clamber- To climb with difficulty, especially on all fours.
  3. onerous-burdensome, oppressive, or troublesome.
  4. titillates-Excite pleasurably.
  5. mollify-to soften in feeling or temper, pacify.
  6. paucity-scarcity.
  7. thwart-hinder or prevent.
